Washington County is partnering with the City of Hillsboro and the Econo Lodge in Hillsboro to run a non-congregate COVID respite shelter for individuals in Washington County who are houseless and test positive for COVID-19 or are identified as a close contact with COVID-19 positive individuals. It serves as a countywide resource for hospitals and public health authorities to safely quarantine individuals in an isolated sheltering environment. The respite shelter is staffed 24 hours a day. The shelter provides wellness checks twice daily, food three times a day, and supports to help individuals connect with housing resources as necessary.
